Constructing Golf cart garage
Thinking about adding golf cart garage to l car garage. May have room. Checked w/Community Standards. Cost? Make sense? Any contractor recommendations.

Cost is highly dependent on house construction (wood, block, poured concrete), probably $15,000 to $20,000, T&D probably best choice, but I will defer to others that have had this done. I watched T&D do lanai and birdcage extensions on 2 neighbors houses very nice work.

Does it make sense? Without knowing your neighborhood it is difficult to make an economic judgement. If you really like and are comfortable with your close neighbors that is impossible to put dollars on. You can buy a house but you can’t pick your neighbors. Another option is to move. We have needed move “space” and after weighing the dollar cost (and construction aggravation) decided best to sell and move. I’m guessing at least 20,000 - 25,000 for a nice completed golf car garage. The decision is usually personal - good luck.

My neighbor in our CYV neighborhood is on a corner lot and wanted to add a golf cart garage. His contractor submitted plans to the ARC and the request was denied. He and the contractor continued to argue the case and after a year of haggling finally got permission. He built it in late 2019 and it looks great. The moral of the story is, go to the ARC with your plans as soon as possible - you may breeze through the process, but my neighbor thought he would.

Want was the name of the contractor that your neighbor used?
