Snowbirds and the COVID-19 Vaccine
I posed a question to the Florida Department of Health as to the Covid-19 vaccine availability for non-residents. Here is their response:
“Yes. Once the COVID-19 vaccine is widely available, non-residents and part-time residents will be eligible to receive the vaccine in Florida. Currently COVID-19 vaccines are strictly limited to certain groups.”
Each can interpret for themselves but the inclusion of “widely available” suggests that I, as a non-resident snowbird and Florida property owner, will have to wait until the vaccine is available to the general public. Guess I may have to return to Ohio if I want to receive the vaccine in the 65+ age group.
