Automobile Speed Limit

Who actually monitors the speed limit inside the Village gates?

Asking for a friend

Nobody, it seems.

Topspinmo 01-05-2021 09:34 AM

Rarely seen, but they are around.

Stu from NYC 01-05-2021 09:50 AM

Thought it was a suggested speed limit

30 merging to 20 really means....45 accelerating to beat what ever is in the way. Occasionally a empty patrol car is placed to slow down traffic, but rarely do you ever see tickets given

I bet...

Hopefully cameras mounted to traffic lights will not find their way here

In the past (5-10 years Ago) there used to be regular speed monitoring and tickets given.

In more recent years as was said above....one might see an active traffic monitoring....very rare.

As a result the speed of traffic on main roads has increased substantially.......stop signs and speed limits seem to be non existent.

Obviously not a priority (anymore).

Apparently the county is flush with funds and does not need the police to fund themselves with ticket revenue

They need to monitor the people driving 30 in a 45 in the left lane. This defines most of the pearl clutchers who are whining about speeders.

The odds of getting struck by lightning are better than getting a speeding ticket

Sumter County Sheriff was clocking cars on St Charles today.

vintageogauge 01-05-2021 06:57 PM

There is a pretty good presence of them south of 44 both the county and Wildwood.
