Is this legitimate? Wanted photo of insurance card and SS #.
|
This site says it's a private worldwide health provider. I would never give out the information they are requesting, ss number, full name, birthdate, medicare number, etc. Opens yourself up to fraud.
The Villages News should have checked before posting. The US govt does not require any of this info for a vaccine. Beware. |

I would not trust it.

I thought the timing was odd. Didn’t expect to be registering at 9:00 on a Sunday night. I stopped reading as soon as I saw they wanted SSN and insurance info. I’ve had enough phishing emails for the red flags to fly over this one.

There was an article about this on the front page of The Villages Daily Sun this past Saturday. Large scale vaccine distribution run by Global Medical Response. This was an announcement by the State of Florida Department of Health.
|
Unless I saw the article myself, I still wouldn't trust it. I tried searching the online version of the Daily Sun but could find no information about this.
I tried searching the Sumter County and Florida State Dept of Health but could find no information about this. The link does not go to the Access2Care site - I have tested that. The site the link goes to has the Access2Care and Global Medical Response logos but oddly, you can't click the logos to get to the official sites. The only two links you can click on the saferestart.net page are the ones that ask for more information. Saferestart seems to be about medical assessments and monitoring for returning to work and not about scheduling vaccinations. As others have pointed out, that level of personal info should not be necessary to register for a vaccination. And all of this might just be wrong and the site really is legitimate but I would not provide my information until I personally saw a notification from an official Govt source about this site. |

By law, s.s. numbers or are í ½íº« t legally required by anyone .

call the Daily Sun and ask
|
The only information required for covid vaccine when I received it was Medicare number.
|
The Fruitland Park police and the Sumter County sheriff's office were both called last evening and they said it was a scam. The fact that the Sumter County health dept provided no info on this site is odd in itself.

Daily Sun article
The website is listed on front page of Daily Sun paper this morning.
