No Water in faucet ? > here's the required temp fix and real required fix $$
If you turn on your faucet and there is no water the problem is probably the water pop-off to the faucet (assuming other faucets work). We have a 7 yr designer house and at first, the cold water in one of the bathroom sinks didn't run. The fix was to look under the sink and find a white disk about the size of a quarter and press it in (could be a bit hard to press in) but not too bad. Then our dishwasher wasn't getting dishes clean and after an $80 service charge, we found the pop-off to the dishwasher also pop-ed. Before calling the service guy I pressed in the pop-off at least twice but it didn't hold I guess. Then during the week the faucet in the bathroom that popped, popped a few more times until finally, I couldn't get the water back. The real fix is to have the pop-off valves replaced with turn valves by a plumber. I guess you will have to make the decision to replace only the ones that popped or all of them, we decided to replace all of them (13 ouch)> be prepared for a large bill $. We have talked to several people and found that many newer homes have had the same issue and everyone seems to be replacing all the shutoff with turn-style shutoffs.
Two plumbers have said the villages is putting them in because they are really cheap. WHY would The Villages continue to put in Pop-Off valves that can and do fail in 7 yrs or less (guess I answered my own question) ?
Not sure who to complain to but I'm sure it won't do any good. If your building a new house and have a say, make sure they don't use the plastic pop-off valves on all the water lines. :pray:
