GMR vaccinations suspended??

Here's what I just read:

Yes, apparently there will be an explanation in "The Daily Sun" tomorrow. Then I Googled "vaccine shortage." Sounds like the Federal government was going to release its stockpile but there was no stockpile, however, I can't confirm that.

Vaccine

That's disappointing. So close to getting a vaccine but so far away.

I understand that stuff happens but going from promising 90,000 doses in 90 days to suspending operations is a big change. (And they advertised the doses before the news about the missing stockpile)

Very concerning. We just got our first dose yesterday and canceled our appointment in Orange County because we though we would be good here. I just hope they straighten this out soon

Went for scheduled vaccine appointment at Safe Start today at 445pm
Deputy advised they “ran out of vaccine”

Stu from NYC 01-16-2021 07:08 PM

Well that stinks

The claim is that they stopped stockpiling when they became confident that the production chain would keep up. No reason to hold back shots of you can reliably heathen when you need them. Pretty much the thought process behind releasing the existing stockpile (that turned out not to exist).

Three problems:
1. No one told "them"that the stockpile had already been released.
2. On the FIRST DAY after deciding the production chain was sufficiently reliable our site runs out of vaccine
3. The numbers don't add up: what was promised doesn't match what was shipped which doesn't match what went into arms

My concern......... is the efficacy of the vaccine as good if the 2nd shot is later than it is supposed to be given which is 28 days for the Moderna vaccine? What if it is days or even weeks late? What happens then? Do we start over?

I'm not expecting anyone to have the answers. Just venting.

Then you have approximately 65% protection, as opposed to >98% protection.

Just received e-mail from GMR stating event on hold until they receive more doses of the vaccine. I was scheduled for first shot Jan 19

There was no stockpile. It can't be missing if it never existed. Health & Human Services Secretary Alex Azar resigned yesterday and announced it then.

Does this mean the safe restart program is suspended ?
