Electric fireplace installation?

If you have installed an electric fireplace into a wall, would like to hear about your experience and who did the install.

Thanks.

Not sure how you install a fire place IN a wall, our house is concrete block (outside walls) and interior walls are around 4 inches. There are several fire place furniture type that are mounted AGAINST the existing wall. If I misunderstood sorry, otherwise you may want to clarify. The units I mentioned typically do not require any special installation except possibly a receptacle to plug in the unit.

Just a few examples. There are several homes here that have this type of setup. I’ve seen several Gardenia models where the fireplaces were installed in a buildout wall between the living room windows.

Thank you. I did see some units that were very slim and inserted into an existing wall but feel the best is to build a frame, as illustrated in the photos other posted added. Will report back on what I find out and hope to hear from folks who have done this.

Sorry, I did not think about the build out option, but I have seen a couple of these, one in stone that look real nice. The project was done by a pervious owner, so no idea who did the work.

We had an accent wall installed in our living room in May '20. Wickham Construction did a great job for us (352-978-3556)

Very nice. Where are the electronic devices, in the lower cabinets?

Another vote for Brent at Wickham Construction

Brent was great to work with! I purchased my tv and fireplace, laid out the design on the wall, and Brent did the rest.
Of course, he can also do all the layout as well -
He did a beautiful job on the stonework!

We really love it1

Some are designed to be recessed in the build out, the venting for the unit is on the front, others it’s not possible to recess, venting is on top...check carefully when ordering a unit..

We installed one a few months ago, I did it myself. I am glad to answer any questions you might have.

There is a dedicated power outlet behind the electric fireplace. Power & cable outlet behind the TV. That TV is a smart TV but Brent did install a "channel" from the left cabinet to behind the TV should we want a cable box. Fireplace is remote controlled with temp settings and color variations.

Thanks for providing these pictures for OP and others. These are exactly the type of electric fireplaces I referred to. In fact, the picture showing the fireplace below the wall-mounted flat-screen TV. In fact the picture shows the fireplace installed in the wall, not surface-mounted. Because they’re only five-inches deep, they can easily be mounted in an interior wall.

Thanks for the pictures. Now you’ve got me thinking (again).

I originally saw these on one of the new Viking ocean cruise ships. When they start cruising again, you can enjoy them on any of their eight ocean ships. They build and decorate them all identically the same.

Very comfy to curl up in a chair in front of the flickering flames with an Irish coffee or hot buttered rum and a good book!

The installed by own place and it was relatively easy. I used AirStone in the process which made the project look great. I would show a photo but this system does not give an option to select from my photos
