Newby question about bushes

I’m new to tv. Can I plant bushes around the perimeter without getting approval. There are already bushes on one side and I want to extend them to the other two sides. Also how far in off the property line I’m required to position them.

Absolutely call the District office and get facts.

Not absolutely, if you are living in a villa you can't plant them on one side of your unit, always read your deed restrictions or as noted above call your district office.

Also be aware that you have to keep 10 feet of clearance around the SECO electrical boxes.

And you cannot plant in the drainage area between houses, typically 3 feet on each side of the property line.

As noted above call, also, you can get a copy of your plat plan from the sumter county building department.

My point was to absolutely call the district, and get facts. But I think that's what I posted...

ALWAYS get ARC approval for anything outside.

What a difference a comma makes, or in this case, no comma.

We had a very bad experience with Good Neighbor Landscaping. Please do some research on whichever company you choose.

That would cause multiple problems for you and your neighbors depending on what type of property you have.
Mainly roots affecting sprinkler systems. Etc.

NEVER rely on the advice from a contractor with regard to ARC approval. You should complete that process yourself.

There is an invisible line around your house that you cannot go over with landscape - we are building and found this out at our landscape meeting. Due to stretching our house forward 3 ft and 4 ft, we could only plant the front landscape beds but NOT the stone curbing around them !!! We will have to get permission and add the curbing after the closing ! Who would have thought this ??? Most houses there have side landscape but you should probably check - there are so many rules.
