Help with Safe Restart

Safe Restart Help. I have registered to be on their waiting list & received an email confirmation that I'm on the list as of Jan11th. Waiting for a 2nd email with a code from them to actually set the appointment. Today, Jan 23 @ 5:23 AM, I received a 2nd email with four - "Your RestartVverification Code# is, The code had just 5 numbers. It doesn't work for step#2 on their website. Their site shows]"ex.G S1234".[/B] If you have actually set up an appointment would you let me know if your appointment code had letters & numbers? If so, how many letters & how many numbers. I am SO FRUSTRATED! With all the lack of clear directions & no explanations. Thank you.

Mine had 3 numbers followed by a letter, then another number followed by 2 letters. I am also waiting. My scheduled appointment was canceled. The news says vaccine is available for those who were scheduled up to Sunday morning. My appointment was for Sunday afternoon. Good luck.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know. Good luck to you also Barb

You are not going to get a reservation date/time from SafeRestart in the near future. Go to Sumter County Health and READ their latest info. If you also listen to all the recent media coverage, it seems that around 7500 folks have received first dose dates that have been suspended by SafeRestart. Additionally other media hype mentioned some 65000 have already registered (we can presume via SafeRestart). Sumter County will be working the SafeRestart (GMR) list of perhaps 7500 PLUS schedule the second dose appointments for GMR before any of the other 65000 reservations are gotten to.

I signed up on 1/12 on the GMR site

I would like to know if I am really on a waiting list or not.
I did receive a confirmation that I am registered.
This is really crazy

Why????????The Publix frenzy seems so crazy to me. Your physician should have a direct input to getting the vaccine for their patients. My father in law got personally notified to come in and get it. (Destin Fl). I actually got a text from my old Dr. in Colorado to come in and get it. WHY does not TV Health have the same capability? Your Dr. should know who needs it first! Makes too much sense.

dbcolli 01-29-2021 08:30 AM

My wife is 80 and has serious health concerns went to her Dr. and also her Heart Dr. and was only given a letter that she is ok to receive an injection, no help on getting it.
We think we are on the GMR waiting list if in fact it exists.

I disagree. The vaccine is free and you don't need to have a doctor to get it. Doctors have the authority to approve handicap parking permits, but they seem to do a lousy job of properly screening people for that privilege.

Emails since the shut down have confirmed we are still on the wait list (since 1/11/2021 7PM).
The email further states "...rest assured you will be notified in the order in which your request was received...".

Even though the order in which received seems to not be the case 100%.

It is at least positive to have received a response. That response, thus far, seems to remain consistent with any public statements made by the provider(s).

What we all would like to know is what position we are on the list.

Whether we are close to next or maybe number 45,351 & 2.

The more significant issue, in my opinion, is why is The Villages having such a difficult time obtaining vaccine??? It seems that out of the hundreds of thousands per week coming into the state of FL, there should be some consistent quantity allocated to TV.....why is that not happening?

I just contacted GMR corporate on an email asking for information on the wait list if it really does exist.
A real shot in the dark I know, but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Yes, a shot in the dark because GMR is not even involved anymore. The Sumter County Health Department has taken over the GMR list. Here is the latest update.

1/28/2021 UPDATES ON COVID-19 VACCINATION | Florida Department of Health in Sumter

Hundreds of thousands waiting their turn on a list they assume someone has and not knowing if one is close to being next or 45,000 th on the list......

a leap of faith list being worked down by a few hundred each week.

Premature launch.....p-poor communications!!
There is no excuse for such incompetence.
Not a very comforting experience regarding those who may be in charge of our welfare during a national emergency

PPLEPEU 01-29-2021 09:30 AM

Is it safe to assume that if you registered with the Restart program while it was under CMR, that you remain on Sumter County’s list of people ‘in line’ for a vaccination?

I’ve been waiting for something simple from Sumter County saying, “We’ve got you on our list”, but haven’t seen that...

Very strange way to run this vaccination program. And not in a good way either
