Questions about your recent test for covid
 

Location, cost, did you swab or did technician, time for results?

Did you have to quarantine until getting results?

Any helpful information would be appreciated.

Walgreens, self swab, results in an hour.

We did it last month as our children wanted to come and we decided we would all get tested.

Did it via our Dr office and their nurse did the swabbing. They sent it to a lab and we got the results 2-3 days later.

We did self quarantine until we got the results and for about 3 days later when they came.

if you need a test I've read on here and also saw the tent set up on 466 just east of buena vista blvd across from laurel manor... I believe this is a rapid test site and I believe it's free

Thanks for the replies. Walgreens was not available for same day testing when I tried to get it. Walgreens would probably be ok, but as far as I can tell, you MUST make an appointment on line at least 1 day before.

I went to the site on 441/27 near Lowe,s. Cost was $75 (and in addition they file an insurance claim)to get nose swab and results by 11pm tonight.

Just a thought, Why would you test unless symptoms were involved. Today’s negative could be tomorrow’s positive. If you are asymptomatic, testing is a crap shoot. After all healthcare workers were rarely tested, and they didn’t have to guess if they were exposed. Just went to work everyday glad when shift was over, then repeat.

Testing is used in some instances as a risk reduction method as requested prior to travel.

But as you say, not perfect. But likely to catch someone infected at the time of test.

I tested 4 times... 2 times because I had symptoms and wanted to assure people I didn't have COVID. Once because I had symptoms and subsequently tested positive for COVID. The last time because I no longer had symptoms.... and wanted to know that I was negative for COVID (and I tested negative for COVID).

Experience
 

We got tested about 2 weeks ago at the site off 466 and across from Laurel Manor. We paid $60 each for the "blood" test method and waited for 15-20 minutes for the results. It was well worth the money spent. :popcorn:
