He's looking for a printer recommendation, not who sells printers.

I've always had good luck with the HP OfficeJet Pro. The newest version can be had for around $200. I own a small business and have one that's probably two generations old and I've never had any issues with it.

I am partial to HP printers. Yes, I did work for them :). I have found them to be very reliable, range in price from $50 and up, and have excellent print quality. Most of their new printers, they have something called "Instant Ink". You pay buy the page and it doesn't matter if you are printing and 8x11 photo or a spreadsheet. The printer communicates with HP and they automatically send you (free) ink prior to you needing it.

What you should do first, is determine how you are going to use it. I wouldn't purchase a $50 casual home printer if you are going to use it for a business and print hundreds of pages a month. Like wise, I wouldn't buy a business printer if I want excellent photo printing.

If you tell us how you plan to use it, I could make a recommendation.

I think Brother Laser Printers are great.

I have 2 HP laser printers that are older than I am (well, almost) and one is the spare in case the first one quits. They're built like tanks and good quality printing. I like HP.

I have cartridges now, next will be tank fill. Printer is more expensive, but not having to buy cartridges will make up the difference

I gave up on ink jet printers too many problems with ink and the printheads. I went with Brother laser printers, a black and white was the first one, then I went for a color. Both of these are hooked up wirelessly and have worked well for 1 to 2 years so far.

Yes, buy a Brother:

Brother MFC-J805DW INKvestment Tank Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer

Great printer and no problems after over a year an 1/2.

Do not buy Epson.

Love our HP from Best Buy.

I have been looking also. Frankly, every printer available by every manufacturer has many poor ratings. You should put this question to Google.

I have one that is in that range that I want to sell for $25. It is an Epson Workforce 4730. It is about a year old. It has 4 new unopened ink cartridge include. They are worth $100 by themselves. Call me if you are interested. Bill 586/665-4300

Single cartridge style..uses less ink. check local..verses Amazon..check replacement ink $$$ not all created equal.

HP is the only way to go. Their Print and Scan Doctor software (free) takes care of all issues for you.

Big fan of HP LaserJet printers. Toner is may seem more expensive but doesn't need to be replaced as often, doesn't dry up and I suspect the cost per page is no worse than ink. I replaced my last HP printer with a 4 in 1 with Bluetooth (HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127). I did own a Brother years ago but have found that I have fewer issues with HP.
