Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

.
. After golf yesterday, went to Piesanos (our fav pizza place) for lunch. Our Server was 'Dallas', a very nice young man. I noticed that he had tatoos on his arms. As usual, I asked if the tatts had a meaning for him. One arm was geometrical patterns, he likes geometry. Other arm had, in cursive, "Yesterday Belongs to History, Tomorrow Belongs to God, Today Belongs to Me". Below was a simple graphic of the 7 continents. Above was "dots & dashes", as he told us was Morse code for the saying. I was so impressed - and he turned out to be a wonderful attentive server (and as usual the food was great). So this morning I decided to make this tangible. Went into Powerpoint and imported a nice picture, entered the saying, printed it, found a frame, and viola'. I plan to send one to each of our 4 'kids' families across the USA (each with 2 grandkids each) - IMO a very powerful inspiring message to follow. att is a photo I just took of my finished product> . . |
That's great!
|
How about "yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a present".
|
Inspiring! So grateful for the wisdom of our folks at TOTV and the sharing.

This may not be genteel phraseology but I have heard it expressed that if you have one foot in the past and the other in the future you are p**ing on the present.
|
I just put "Yesterday Belongs to History, Tomorrow Belongs to God, Today Belongs to Me" on my facebook front page right below my name and photo where we can have a slogan.

John, what if I tell you that I copyrighted that phrase last night, and that every use costs $4.00? If you said "you're lying", you're right. (I put it on my ToTV signature line...) . . |
That is another thing in this large great world, tattoos, just don’t get it. My daughter has a few she got during college but she has never shown them to me. I know people say they are art but I always see them as graffiti covering a beautiful person. I would never ever say this to anyone with tattoos as it is there body and their choice. But for me I don’t get it. To each their own.

FYI:
Everyday belongs to God. |
One should think carefully about where he/she puts their tattoos. I worked for 45 yrs as a hospital RN. 20-30 yrs & sagging skin does nasty things to them.
|
Give Dallas a framed picture that you created. I am sure he would appreciate and value that gesture and knowing how you shared his message with your family.
|
I like what my son said when asked if he had a tattoo, “Would you put a bumper sticker on a Masarati?”

. You're reading my mind (oh oh) Exactly what I plan to do. He was such a fine young man. Thx for your feedback and confirmation of my plan. . . |
