Honest about mileage
Wondering if anyone actually travels more than 50 miles in one day in their golf cart?
|
If you are wondering gas vs. electric...........50 miles is not the magic number.
Battery life diminishes over time. The 50 mile life (if there is one) will NOT last long. Sometime you can not rely on the meter for accuracy. 60% of battery life can disappear in the last 10% of the time. |
No, just wondering if driving 50 miles or more via golf cart in a single day is feasible.

Depending where you live in Brownwood, its 10-12 miles one way to Spanish Springs - round trip for dinner and you’re half way there.
50 miles is a lot - probably not everyday |

Sure you can, get out and explore. You can learn more in a GC than in a car.

Been here 7 years, have only driven electrics.....50 miles is no issue on the cart but my backside has a real issue with it and I have great seats and suspension. I replace batteries every 3 - 4 years when the the range drops to 35. When you consider that Disney World is 56 miles from Brownwood, would you really want to do that in a cart?

We have a gas cart and travel on occasion what others may consider high miles in a single day (35-40). We chose a gas cart because of that. We do not have any experience with an electric cart so cannot render an opinion on that, My only desire is that we could enjoy the quiet of the electric option and we have a Yamaha quiet tech 2.

We have both, love riding gc rather than car. We live in Northern section near Mulberry, with 2 people, the electric range is obviously not as good, and with 4 people, even worse. I can go to Lake Sumter, golf near there and back with no problem by myself. But add another person and 2 golf bags, I limp home the last mile usually. Electric is great for short hops and shopping, but for anything else we use the gas. We also got the Yamaha quiet tech with the independent rear suspension, and along with nice captain seats, it’s easy on the body. Love being in fresh air and closer to all the beauty of The Villages, rather than zipping down in a closed car..

Well Disney World is about 56 miles and once TV connects to DW you may be driving that frequently.
