wife and I went for our 2nd shot today and was told not to laminate the original card.. lamination turns the card black.. they advised us to take a picture of card and keep it on our phones also you can print out a copy of the picture/card and laminate that

Why would lamination turn the card black? It's just white card stock.

That’s my question, too. We were thinking about laminating ours, but there are spaces for additional vaccinations, if needed.

And that’s exactly why they suggested you don’t laminate the card i.e. the possibility of additional vaccines. I think someone was pulling your leg telling you the cards will turn black.

Why even bother? Their only purpose is as a personal record that you need as a reminder to get your second shot and which one it was. They have no "legal" use to identify you as vaccinated as they can easily be forged or faked or copied. A hand scribbled name and date on a card has no official use other than as a reminder or a souvenir. If you need "additional vaccines" the state or county has official records and will contact you as they do/did for the 2nd shot. That card won't be what gets you a booster shot if needed.

We were instructed to cut off the unused space at the bottom.. laminate. It did not turn black. Proof of vaccine will be needed should we travel out of the country. My husband had an appointment with his primary today & he was asked to show his card.

Take a picture of your card or scan it using the “Notes” app on your iPhone then you can save it on your phone. I scanned mine as stated above and have it on my iPhone.

Show his card to go see his MD, why, will they start refusing to see you without it....hardly

These are weird times. If you’re planning to travel out of the country or if your doctor is keeping track of his/her patients who have been vaccinated, having proof would be wise until this virus loses its powerful grip on all of us.

Haven’t got my shot yet! What is this card about? You actually get a “card” saying you got the shot? Like a note from your Mom!

Its paper! Whats there to turn black? Plus, keep a copy on your phone or ipad. Thats what most people do nowadays. Plus, I think if you intend to keep it for travel purposes or whatever, I doubt that hand written card will get you anywhere. Its like an appt card from a dr. Nothing more

I scan all important legal documents and store them on the cloud. I can access them from my computer, phone, tablet, or any device connected to the internet. If you don't have a cloud account, you can set up a Google Drive account and use up to 15 GB of data storage for free. That is enough space to store thousands of scanned documents.

we were told many cards turned black from the lamination process.. I'm just passing on what we were told at paddock mall yesterday.. they also gave the info. on taking a pic. and keeping it on your phone.. and printing a copy and laminating that.. it's not a big deal people, if you think they are wrong then laminate your card

*IF* they used a thermal printer to make the card then the paper would be sensitive to heat and would turn black if put into a heated laminating machine.

If it is hand-written then it isn't likely to be thermal paper.
