I received one yesterday. Unfortunately, even though there appears to be a link allowing you to cancel, it is unclickable. I tried with 3 different devices and browsers. No way to phone, no way to email either.
|
On some browsers you have to scroll sideways to get to the boxes to click or input information.
Here is a contact link to the GMR sight. Just choose a category that comes close....explain when registered, looking for status etc. Takes a couple of days to get a reply (at least that was the way it worked for us). Contact | Access2Care |
I emailed them to cancel since we received ours at another location. Got a thank you email back which means two other folks can get scheduled.

I was able to email and cancel finally and they thanked me.

GMR information handling is a sad joke!
We just spent the past couple of hours getting a vaccine for my wife. I signed both of us up on the 21st of January. She got a message on Tuesday with a code and an appointment for 4:00 pm today at Wedgewood Lane in the Villages. When we arrived there was no activity but someone informed us that they were doing the vaccines in Sumterville. After driving 22 miles south and asking at a gas station where they might be doing vaccine, we were directed to Sumter College. Managed to get a vaccine for my wife but even though there were many others who had missed appointments I was unable to get one even though we both signed up at the same time. Very poor communication from GMR. How hard would it have been to notify the people with appointments that the site had changed?

January 21st! Seriously?

Oh boy, I finally got my parents set for their vaccinations today at Buffalo Ridge...email said nothing about this change. Is the college set up for car drive thru? My dad can't walk.
|
Sumterville is drive through
Once you reach Sumterville College (I would recommend using a GPS or WAZE since it is not easily visible from the road) you can drive in and be processed in the usual fashion. Shots are given while the patient remains in the car and then a 15 minute wait in a nearby parking lot. Personnel at the site are courteous and make the process relatively simple. Just wish that GMR would put someone in charge of communications and keep people informed. How hard is it for anyone with computer skills to reach out to all the people who are registered on a given day and notify them of a change of venue???

They schedule by filling up time slots - it was nice of you to cancel but it really meant nothing as far as filling your slots - those slots would have filled anyway with the next people in line. You had great intentions and that is commendable!
|
GMR is still doing that. I made an appointment last night for my first vaccine. Their immediate e-mail response directed me to Wedgewood Lane. This morning, I received another e-mail directing me to Sumterville. Stay on your toes.

I signed my spouse and myself up at the same time, actually consecutively. My wife received her code to schedule her date/time for the shot a few days ago. I received mine today. I went on there and cancelled both, as we have already had our first shot and scheduled for the second at another location. By cancelling, that should move a couple folks up on the list.
I would suggest that if you are considering whether to get the vaccination or not, that you make a decision fast. It is only a matter of time before they open the line to all ages and you will have to compete with the majority of folks younger than you. |
