Walking Dogs

I am just a little curious. I notice when I was visiting TV that every road was clean. Where do the dog owners walk their dogs. Is their special places they go, or do they just walk them on the road? How do the residents feel about dogs in TV? I did see a lot of dogs at the Village Square. What are the restrictions with dogs. I do own a dog. It is easier to walk him where I live now, as I do not think my roads are as clean as the roads in TV. My husband and I are interested in moving to TV in the near future.

People must pick up after their dogs with doggie poop bags or whatever it takes. Unfortunately, I have seen evidence of inconsiderate and irresponsible dog owners. It really isn't hard or asking too much for dog owners to clean up after their dogs.

There are a number of dog parks within or near the Villages. Two of these are dog parks just for Villagers with a third being build opening around November 2010. There are also a city dog park (Lady Lake Dog Park) that is only open a few hours in the morning but only costs $40 a year the last I looked to go to. It is quite small though and you have to pick up the poop.

There is a private dog park near the Villages which costs $25 a month for one dog or $3 a day. This is 10 acres and they pick up the poop for you and it is open about 362 days a year from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is Doggie Doo Run Run.

There are often a lot of people who take their dogs in their golf carts to their respective postal centers.

It is clean because responsible pet owners clean up after the dogs.

Dog Park

Visiting in December. Can anyone tell me where the new dog park is in TV?

Thanks

TV is dog friendly. You can take your dogs to dog parks, walk them on the road or take them to the squares. However, please, please be courteous and pick up the poop! Many people don't like other dogs peeing in their yard either. Best to let him do his business in your own yard, and curb your dog if he's gotta go.

A word about taking dogs to the square: Think twice about it. People can trip over a dog or a leash. Some people have allergies. Some people are afraid of dogs. As for the dog's well being, it's hot on the squares. There's no appropriate place for the dog to relieve himself.

Keep these things in mind and you and your dog will love it here! It is courtesy that enables dogs and clean roads to co-exist!

And by the way, don't let Fumar fool you, most of us here love dogs.

Doggie Clean Up

I not only take a plastic bag to use for my dog's "clean up", but also use a bottle of water with washing up liquid to pour over the PP. Would not want my dog to cause burns on neighbors' lawns. :)
