A plastic potato?! The potatoes were real back in the day with plastic parts attached to a push pin. It was just plain fun for us kids. Now I've read that due to complaints about rotting vegetables and government safety regulations the plastic potato came into effect in 1964. Where was the outrage then? Time to refocus your angst on happier times when potatoes were cheap and we didn't confuse a potato's eye with one of our own
