Which- Ecobee or Nest to notify home owner if problems with AC/Heating

My CYV is about 3 yrs old. I will be gone for summer and am wondering which system to get to notify me by computer or cell, if a problem with the AC or heating system if gone during winter. Seems like someone before has asked this, but I cannot find the suggestions. Do any of the systems that are installed in homes already have this option? Thanks for help.

Almost all do, including Sensi by Emerson Electric. They send a notification if they can't maintain the temp after 24 hours.

I don't believe the Carrier smart thermostat notifies you.

My Nest 4th gen thermostat does not notify me of a preset condition. I can of course manually check the temp as long as there’s an internet connection.

I just checked the Nest web site and there are instructions for setting up alerts but I couldn’t get it to work.

I have an ecobee and it will send notifications for temp, humidity, aux heat on. But almost all smart thermostats will do this.

If all you want is an alert and don't need to control temperature there are standalone devices that will do this. Just look for "temp humidity sensor" on Amazon or your favorite online store.

All these devices will need to have internet access available while you are away.

or have a trusted friend or neighbor check the house once a week, like a watch service. Just an option.

.

Have Ecobee. Will alert you realtime & you can look at history as to when it kick on, runtime, outside temp, etc. I noticed the second stage was kicking in too soon and it was determined the unit was not programed correctly at install.

I have nest (in TV and at home). You can set notifications, adjust temps, etc. I had Munn install mine. They also installed a nest camera at doorbell.
