Golf cart noise.

I'm starting to hear a whistling noise coming from my cart when I start from a dead stop. Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks.

I have the same noise, I mentioned it to the place where I bought the cart and they mentioned possible moisture on the belt, mine disappears after about 1 to 2 minutes of driving.

Sounds like a classic case of a happy cart.

Mine does the same. I figure it's the fan belt on the clutch.

Mine is more of a screeching sound. It is louder when cold, gets a tad better when things warm up, but it never really goes away.

I don't know if mine disappears or if the sound of the motor drowns it out. Will have to pay better attention.

IMO Depending on humidity and temperature of the air I hear very faint kinda like whistling noise. I figure it’s the engine cooling fan pushing dense air. Now do you hear belt squeaking? Depends on age of you’re belt and how you bring the centrifugal clutch in, or basically you’re driving habits. If you slam the clutch in when taking off that’s going to create heat on belt do to friction making the cart move. Over time this glazes the belt where it gets pinched between clutch and cause wear. You should be able to see the glazing and can measure for wear. Or just change the belt it’s around 40 to 100 bucks depending on where you buy it, probably the easiest thing to change on golf cart when it come to maintenance. If you have no general mechanical skills you have no choice to to go to repair shop.
