Vaccine phone scam

A week ago one of my neighbors said that he had received an odd phone call telling him that covid-19 vaccine shots were available and did he want to make an appointment.

He said they asked him for a lot of information, but they never gave him a date or time.

This morning I received a call on my cell...the person calling had an accent that sounded slightly British. She wanted me to know that they had appointments available for the covid-19 shots....

We've both had our 1st shots...and have appointments for our second. When I registered I only gave them our house phone, not my cell, so that was a red flag for me

I'd stay on the line long enough to 'have some fun' with them, as we were still having breakfast

They're looking for your credit card number, and to record your voice saying the word 'yes'....which they'll use later

I've been very deliberate for a while now when I answer the phone...I never say the word 'yes' when speaking to anyone that I don't personally know

It appears that 'Angela' may have switched jobs and is no longer hawking extended warranties

be careful...the corn artists are out there

Thanks for sharing these animals have no shame.

My wife constantly gets calls from ____ on a recorded line.

We used to say no thank you but now just hang up. Block the calls but they have an infinite number of numbers to use.

Here's the fun part: by talking to them AT ALL you are confirming that your phone number is valid, it will be answered by a person, and the person is willing to interact with other people on the phone.

That's all they need, to sell your phone number to thousands of other scammers.
