Bridge Over the Turnpike
 

After crossing the turnpike are we able to go by golf cart to Loblolly and Longleaf golf courses? And if we are, and you know how, would you post the directions, or is it marked when we get across the bridge. And, if there are postings already, please advise where to look...

Am planning on going Tuesday afternoon to explore. I live in Village of Belvedere.

Yes, you can get to any of the courses once you cross the bridge.

There are two routes you can take. The easiest to explain is on Marsh Bend Trail. After leaving the bridge you will see the roadway. Turn left onto MBT and proceed all the way to the end of the cart path. Merge with traffic and then turn left onto the Multimodal Trail. At the traffic circle take the first exit and go through the tunnel. Follow the path until you reach the stop sign. Turn right and merge with traffic. At the stop sign turn right onto Fenney Way. Both courses share a common parking lot. The lot will be on your left. Longleaf starter shack is straight ahead at the first entrance. Loblolly is easier to get to at the second. Watch for a sign on your right directing you to the starter shack and practice green.

I tried to order carryout this evening from Cody's in Brownwood with them saying "No carryout orders today because the bridge is open with too many people waiting and not enough staff." I suppose I could travel down south to eat at a food truck. Just kidding as the future may lead to many interesting places to eat down south in The Villages. My cart batteries are charged and I am ready to go as soon as they are built. :)

Don't drink any liquids before leaving for the trip as there are no rest areas between you and the courses.

The food trucks are actually quite good although I cannot attest to the Mexican one.

You pass many neighborhood and regional rec centers. Why lie to people?

I took a cruise yesterday. Lots of winding cart paths. Interesting, but glad I live where I live.

They are not rest areas and if you have early starting times it will do you no good to get off the paths to find a neighborhood or regional rec. center.

Saturday morning the carts coming over the Brownwood bridge looked like ants streaming out of an anthill. My wife said she'd wait until April to attempt to go to the farmers market again. Way too crowded.

I pretty much agree with that. In my opinion golf cars are for golfing or going to the pool so not to get water or lotion in my car, and every once in awhile a late day ride around the local neighborhoods just to keep the battery charged. Automobiles are for everything else. I might venture to Paddock Square one time via golf car just to say that I did it but doubt very much there will be a second time for me. .

I had dropped my wife off at Brownwood Saturday morning using the car, not cart as I had to go to Ace in Wildwood. Saw the steady stream of carts coming over the bridge and the mass of humanity and said to myself "No thank you". When I picked up my wife she said she'd wait until April. It was nothing to do with the number of carts, it was the number of people. And also not a mask thing. Just way too many people and you could barely move.

I would agree except my four seater is a people mover! I don't play golf only pickleball. With my brother and wife along our street in Lake Deaton.
