backyard waterfalls

Does anyone know if there are any restrictions for installing a small pondless waterfall in my villages designer homes backyard?

I am almost positive that you will get an O.K. for that from the Architectural Review Committee. It is just birdbaths where the water is stagnant that are disapproved because they breed mosquitoes.

I just had a combination water fall / pool approved by Architectual Design Review along with my landscaping and is was finished about 30 days ago. I've had neighbors stop and tell me how much they liked it and no one with any negative indications. I see Neighborhood Watch drive by very regular and they don't slow down, except for the day after it was finished and they demanded that the sign the landscaper left be removed since they were finished. As long as they were working on it, no problem. As stated above I believe as long as the water is moving there is no problem. My neighbors have a combination birdbath/fountain and theirs was finished after ours, albeit in the back yard - it likewise looks very nice..

I can't have my birdbath? Oh no:shrug:

Birdbath? Here's a thought!

They might consider approving your birdbath if you add a 'water wiggler'.
It's battery operated and totally quiet. We have have had one (up north...sigh!) for 4 years and run it continuously all year around. Our birdbath is heated for winter and this wiggler hasn't failed yet.
Takes two D batteries and I change them 2 maybe 3 times a year.
Looks like a little white dome and the birds don't mind it at all.
I'm told they are more attracted to water that's moving anyway.
Maybe they know there will be no mosquitos!

I have 2 birdbaths but this one I bought 4 years ago in Mn. but it was made in Mexico. It's made of all stones it's really pretty and I was planning on bringing it with me. I'm wondering if some one can make a fountain with it?

Beware of Snakes in the Villages

They love water and a tropical setting. Also a rock garden is a great place for rats.

Been there and done that no longer have it.

Oh, no! I've also heard snakes and rats love citrus trees too. Is nothing safe except the bougainvillea?
