Automatic gate openers available?

I would like a transponder that would would open the gate automatically rather than have to use the card or push the button each time. (Especially during the rain). Does such a thing exist and how do you get one.

Thank you for any assistance or ideas you may offer.

card,guard, or red button

A friend of ours put one of his gate cards into his drivers side mirror (between the mirror glass and the outside of the mirror housing). He then taped it so it wouldn't come out. When he pulled into a gate, his driver side mirror was just about the same height and the gate box and the unit would read his card through the mirror housing. He said it worked for almost every gate entrance except for one or two where the gate box was a little too low for it to read from his mirror. On those few, he had his extra gate card handy or he used the button. But every time I was with him, it worked great and he didn't have to roll down his window.

And I would like the proceeds from any single Sunpass basket as of the weekend before or after Easter - as well as to be about 20 pounds thinner! lolololol

Just go through the "visitor" line at a manned gate; usually shorter line anyway and since no one really needs a card since it is not a private community, just take the easy lane..... LOL ! Also, not all, but MANY people working the gates DO open them during rain (VERY nice of them, but not all do this curtsey !)
Transponders would be GREAT, but again, probably just another expense to the residents like the $50 cards to get in a line of 12-17 cars to enter their own public streets..... LOL ! Perhaps if "guards" (greeters) were discontinued, that would save enough to give all residents a transponder cost free, but of course that would also put many of our friends and neighbors out of jobs they depend on to supplement their retirement income, so.... there is always a downside !

Actually, you can hold your gate card against your driver's window and the scanner will see it, gate will open. I do this when it's raining.

Was going to say the same thing, most open without needing to put the window down. If you had a remote it would not slow cars enough to allow golf carts to cross the street.

Surprised you didn't get 12 people saying "if you don't like it, move!" although I probably "spoke" too soon as I'm sure that comment is coming! :D I'd like the window or grille mounted transponder too but that would mean bringing the gate technology AT LEAST up to 1980. ;)

that works for a friend of ours, but

does not work with our windows. So you likely should have mentioned that you don't know if that works for all people.

yeah, no helpful or on topic answers so far...the answer to you question is NO....there is no transponder to date that will allow people worried about getting a bit damp to open the gate for you...not a bad suggestion, but not a game killer.

I've tried that, doesn't always work.

Gotta drive close to the receptor. Too many here are either poor drivers or drunk.

Have seen someone ahead of me waving her card three feet away...
Guess that is better than her driving into it

If you drive a Corvette or similar, car is too low. If you drive a truck, van or SUV (maybe other cars also) it works if you get close enough. When you put your window down and stick your hand out with the card, that's about the distance you need to be from the reader for it to read through the window. Works for us all the time. Depending on the line, and the weather, the visitors lane is an option.
