Aldi: Price Differences
 

I love ALDI for the basics and their ALDI Finds. You can save quite a bit of $$ here.

However, you should know that prices can vary from ALDI to ALDI. For example: 1 Gallon of Milk $2.99 at the new ALDI on 301, $2.69 at the ALDI on Seven Mile Drive (near Lowes). Another example is Eggs: $1.61 at 301, $0.77 at Seven Mile Drive.

These prices are consistently different between the 2 stores.

Just a public service announcement.

That might explain why the new one seems less crowded.

The new Aldi's at Trailwinds Village, milk had been $1.99 a gallon for many months while Publix wanted about $4.00. I just do all my shopping at Walmart at Colony, for example their milk was also about $1.99 a gallon and you can get the name brands and when it comes to pharmacy items, just buy the Equate, that's the house brand and it's so much cheaper. Since the Aldi's is so close to me, I will sometimes run in and get milk, bread or something, so I kind of stay up on those prices. To me, everytime I go in to Aldi's at Trailwinds the parking lot and the store is packed.

I looked inside Aldi once and thought it was just a mess so I will not shop there. Warehouse stores are nicer than the store I was in.

Aldi is pretty close to being a Trader Joes, just owned by the other brother.

We shop Trader Joe’s twice a month. This week....

Trader Joe’s milk $2.69 and egg .99.
Fresh Large Sea ScallopS $12.99
Organic chicken breast $2.39
Bread started at .99 to $2.49 for multigrain

Two isles of wine starting around $4.00 but carry named vineyards from California and Europe. Those can go up to $60. Organic and Kosher.
The inventory between the two stores are not even close.

They are very different. Trader Joes more upscale and carry a larger variety of products.

Really, Trader Joe’s is a somewhat normal store for healthy eaters. Aldi is a no name brand piles of stuff where ever there is room. No organization or the like. Was a total turnoff. I don’t shop at Trader Joe’s either as I don’t eat food like that.

Publix prices occasionally vary between stores as does Walmart (mini Colony Walmart is noticeably more on many items then big Walmart very often on soda 6-packs). When I asked the mini-manager he says "prices can vary between ALL our stores." Likely Mr Morse gets his hands into Colony Mini Walmart as well probably accounting for higher prices. Often find soda 6-packs at Mini-Walmart up to $1 more than biggie Walmart and they don't match their own prices even if you bring in a receipt from same day.

Then you haven’t been to one in years...

Their prices are based specifically on their location and do vary. I have asked that question directly to a store manager more than once, in different states. I believe they want their prices low, but also have to be fiscally competitive.

Last year over by Lowes.

I noticed that too. Strange......

Likely Mr Morse gets his hands into Colony Mini Walmart as well probably accounting for higher prices.

The Aldi’s in Ocala (Bahia Road) has milk for $1.99 per gallon, went by it the other day on my way to a meeting and saw the signage all over it, also it was not crowded at all and much larger and cleaner than the one on 441
