Priority Mail Delivery???

Is anyone else having problems with mail delivery? A 3 day priority mail envelope was mailed to me March 22 from New England. I have yet to receive it. Meanwhile, a package was mailed from the same location regular mail this past Friday to Los Angeles, and it was delivered yesterday! What is up with the Florida mail system?

What does the tracking show as the location of the envelope?

As I understand it, the USPS does not deliver directly to your Postal Station. It goes to a central mail facility at the Villages. From there it gets distributed to the Villages Postal Stations. Might be why there is a delay. Check your tracking number, if it says delivered, it probably means delivered to the central mail facility, not your local Postal Station.

Old news unfortunately.

From time to time the post office seems to lose track of a package and takes forever either to get to destination or lost in space.

I never use USPS for any needed over night delivery it never happens.
Use UPS pay the higher rate and you’ll get the service you wanted and payed for. ( one exception Weather)

I had one last month that took 14 days to get here, according to the tracking number it was stuck in Orlando for most of that time.

Your local postal station is managed by the USPS. If you have a message that says something was delivered to you, it means to the local postal station, not to the central mail facility. And, it usually says "placed in mailbox".

USPS employees were supposedly allowed to take paid leave for almost anything related to Covid. Most of them did. Our postal stations are subcontractors, but the supply chain to them is the problem. The USPS leave policy ended on the 26th. so hopefully things get better.

About a week before Christmas I bought an item and the seller shipped it by USPS. It took 18 days to get from Missouri. The seller provided a tracking number and for two weeks when I checked the status it was always "In transit". It was still listed as in transit when it was delivered to me.

SickofSnow 03-30-2021 06:38 PM

The tracking shows "In route to next facility".

wow - I've been sending Priority Mail 2 day envelopes to DC from here every other day with documents. Always been delivered in two days. But, coming here? I'd be careful - I've already had stuff too big for the box get held up...

Yea, unless they put it in the wrong one which has happened to me AT LEAST 4-5 times in the last couple months once with a $800 item that needed a signature and the mail person actually signed it with their name as DELIVERED and put it in one of the large boxes. It keeps going to a person with the same NUMBER part of their address but on a different STREET who gets my packages and I have no idea how much of my (junk) mail as I rarely get "important" mail .

I actually had some items that were delivered but never received them. Asked postal worker and she knew nothing about it. showed her the confirmed delivery receipt and she said she never saw it? what's up with that?

It's not just Florida. I had my son in Philly two day priority mail a license tag to the North Carolina DMV. It took 42 days to arrive.
