Thread Deletions
If TPTB are going to delete an entire thread it would be extremely helpful if the members of the community were told why it was deleted.
Even with all the censorship on Facebook and Twitter, those sites at least offer some explanation, albeit in the vaguest of terms. ("Your post violated community standards ... ") As someone pointed out the other day (I can't find the message right now -- maybe it was deleted, too), when people take the time to write posts and engage in discussion, only to have their efforts negated when the thread disappears, it doesn't encourage dialogue. kathy |
Threads are closed for many reasons. Some because they get political. Some because they become combative. Threads that discuss a person are almost always deleted.
Right now we have several moderators out for various reasons and are short handed. We just don't have the time right now to clean every thread. Sometimes it's just easier to close a thread. Yes, we do make mistakes. But with the volume of posts right now we just don't have the time to read every post in every thread. We ask for your patience. We're doing the best we can with the manpower we have. |
