A lot of people don't do window treatments. I personally think it softens the home. There is a Penneys in Leesburg and they have very nice ready made window treatments. So does Target and others, but Penneys has the best of ready made. (I think) They also do custom. |
On our previous LSV's, we got some great ideas from touring the models. IMHO, the TV designers are really good.

Blinds
Agree - Rick - 48 Hrs, great job with the plantation shutters and reasonable.

Here's another recommendation for Rick at 48 Hr. Blinds. He just installed our plantation shutters and we were very pleased with his work.

Window treatments, new floors, everybody is DECORATING their new spaces.
Please some picture please. PTurner can put them IN the post if you IM her. Where in the heck is PTurner?? This place isn't near as fun when she isn't here. Ya think she went on a cruise or joined the foreign legion? (I don't think you can do that any more) Anyway, if you would, take pictures of your place so we can all enjoy what you've done. I love to see how people make each house their very own wonderful place.:BigApplause: |
I just took some pictures of my new window treatments and paint when I was in TV for 10 days. Flew Spirit Airlines part of the way back and was trying to be frugal by only taking my backpack, which had stuffed into it my laptop, camera, purse, 2 library books I forgot to send back with Ohioboy.
To make a long story short, I left the camera in an airport somewhere when I removed it to get to something else and forgot to put it back in. I really saved money on that flight, didn't I? Spirit Airlines now charges for carry-ons, can only take 1 personal item that will fit under the seat. Fortunately, the camera was only about $80 new (a Canon on sale) and except for the decorating pics, the only one I hadn't uploaded to my computer was a picture of me and Howard "Hopalong" Cassidy, taken at the OSU Alumni club at Tony Packo's in The Villages. He was the 1954 Heisman Trophy winner (played for OSU, of course). Still in great shape and looked good. He lives in Tampa somewhere but has friends he visits in TV. |

Say WHAT???:22yikes: You had a picture taken with Hopalong Cassidy the Ohio State Football player and you lost the camera???? I will never speak to you again!!! If you keep this up, you are gonna turn out just like me. |
Go with Rick, there is a reason we all recommend him...he's the best!

I made all the valences for our home. That way we could select a fabric that went well, used it to recover the dining room chairs, make the valences and now everything matches. Not that hard to do and you get a better product.

I know GG. I do lots of strange things. Ride Harleys, sew, cook, make Christmas ornaments, ski, fly, home repairs, and many more. None of them very well, but do my best at them all. All my life when I came across something new, I said "I could do that" so I tried. Started with my very first car. I bought this 1950 Chevy with a blown engine and decided I could rebuild it so it was ready to drive when I turned 16. Since then I have restored cars, airplanes, built a house from digging the hole in the ground all the way to moving in. And will always at least see if I can do it before I hire it.
