Experience with your Roofer?

Looking for a reputable roofer. So many to choose from. Then there are the ones that claim you can get a new roof through your insurance.
Just looking for some advise and recommendations.
Thank you.

McGinnis installed a roof for a friend. $5,000 for a 2 bedroom villa. He did an excellent job in 2 days. Didn't ask for any money in advance.

We used Batterbee. They are a big company, locally based. They will be around if you need anything. The insurance companies have really tightened down on the "free roof" deals after being run over by all the requests. We paid for new roof on our own. Professional presentation on what you will get with your roof. Then before the start several emails about what to do to prepare. Full clean up, magnetic sweepers to pick up any random nails. Then afterward an email asking if anything needs to be done, make sure you are happy. Nice little gift after the work is done!

I second that! The estimator has a good idea if the insurance company will pay for a new roof. Usually you need damage on TWO slopes to get a whole new roof, (less your deductible).
Avoid the ones in Orlando that say they will do the job for whatever the insurance company estimates and will "Represent You" during the claims process. They have sneaky clauses in their contracts.

I had ‘Roof Guys’ replace my roof last year. Very happy with their service & price.

Stay away from APC Roofing. You get a different story every time you talk with them. Try Apex Roofing.

Eustis Roofing did 2 houses for us, mobile home and ranch. Had to call back on mobile home, came quickly and been leak free. Cost in middle of pack. They do not deal with insurance companies. We did, and process was flawless.

I went with Batterbee. They sell/install/guarantee a roofing system rather than just shingles and tar paper. The communication was great prior to and after the installation. During the follow-up call I told them my neighbors have "shingle envy" because my roof looks so good. A+

My roof qualified for a free cleaning (under a ten year warranty). The cleaners reported a "soft spot" and referred me to McHale's Roofing. McHale's "walked" the entire roof and assured me there was no need for any repairs. I was relieved! I was prepared to get a $econd opinion and move forward. He bid me farewell and headed to his truck. I called to him reminding him I owed him for the service call. The "charge" was to call them if I thought I needed a repair and a suggestion to refer McHale's to friends and neighbors. Honest to the core! "Earning money old fashioned way" - limiting their contracts to work that actually needs done.

I fully agree - my experience with Batterbee was the same - fully professional, no up front money and no "monkeying around" with rigging an insurance payment - I needed a new roof and I paid for it; end of story. You won't go wrong with this company,
