Halloween

In NY October 31 is Halloween where little kids dress in cute costumes and go "Trick or treating". The bad part of Halloween is some of the older kids get destructive..smashing pumpkins on steps, shaving cream all over cars and egging houses. I'd assume with no kids in TV Halloween isn't as big as it is in NY and there is no need to buy candy that we will end up eating before the 31st.

Tom, It is my understanding that there is no trick or treating door to door in TV, but it is done at the squares. Also there is a golf cart line up somewhere near the college on 466 that allows kids to go golf cart to golf cart for candy. I hope somebody can add to this.

Yes, I posted it a few days ago. On Friday, Oct 29th from 5 - 7 PM there is Trunk or Treat at the New Covenant Methodist Church down the street from Crispers. Bring your candy and sit in your golf cart - the kids trick or treat from cart to cart. It is so much fun. It is extremely well attended. I've done it for about 3 years. I've had about 50 to 75 kids.

The Villages are nice and quiet on Halloween. What candy you buy you get to eat! Works for me!

And yes there are places you can go to give away candy and treats. I think the squares still have gatherings.

No trick or treating is allowed but it doesn't stop some of us from having costume parties. :a040:

As others have said, trick or treating door-to-door at homes in not allowed.

You can go to the squares and see kids dressed for halloween. Sometimes mom or grandma chaperon is in costume too. The stores at the square give treats to the kids.

Halloween for Dogs

Last year I took my dog to a Halloween event at Lake Sumter Landing. A lot of dogs wore costumes and they all received treats. Any news of this being held again?

Viv- I can't believe my post from a year ago is still active. A shame I won't arriving in TV until the day after Halloween.
