Need recommendation for sprinkler system maintenance

Be prepared to be charged excessively and good luck finding someone who even answers the phone or returns your call. This is another problem created by villagers who either don’t ask for pricing up front or are told an excessive price and agree. The house building that has been going on for years even though it was suppose to end years ago just keeps going creating a shortage of service people. Already in the winter it’s so crowded it’s getting like living in the city most of us escaped from.

I recently (April) used Jeff of Irri-Tech (352) 419-2501 to relocate a sprinkler head and to adjust my sprinklers and Hunter control.

In doing the adjustments he explained why I should not have disabled the seasonal adjustment, cleaned my rain sensor, reset all my zone times based on his local knowledge (his settings were way different than what I thought).

Total charge $115 and as a DYIer who is cheap, I feel as if I got my money's worth.

If your able to squat down on the grass and dig a small hole your next step is to look at Youtube videos on irrigation sprinklers. It is really not that hard and the cost savings are huge. My two cents.

Using the names that have been mentioned, would you recommend any of these people not only for their expertise with the equipment, but also for their knowledge of the irrigation needed depending on the foliage in that particular watering zone? Jim Baumgartner was excellent with this. As I moved plants around, he would adjust the irrigation. I have used another company on two occasions since Jim retired, but they only have knowledge of the equipment and not of the watering needs of my landscaping. Obviously, I miss Jim, his knowledge, and his humor!

I second Joe Tucker. I have a very large corner lot with 12 zones. He charges $35 for the check & adjustment. Of course there is an extra charge, if he has to replace any heads.

I have had GREAT experiences with Matt Bassett and his wife Angie. We have used them for irrigation repairs and maintenance - and they did an awesome job at a very fair investment in pulling out our overgrown landscaping and designing and implementing new plants and trees that have gained great praise from neighbors.
