Niche in Showers
The showers in our villa have no niches for shampoo and other toiletries. Has anyone had a niche installed/ retrofitted in the shower? If so, what did it cost and who do you recommend?

First thing you need to do is see if you can find matching (or contrasting) tile for your project. Not sure how a retro fit is done, the ones I saw were molded units with a flange to nail in place, and ready to install thin set and tile. I am guessing the bathroom restoration services will do this, but being a small job it may be difficult.

Or you can always do what folks did before and just add something that hangs from the shower head or sticks to the shower enclosure for shower stuff storage.

Simple Human
Bed Bath and Beyond has a nice shower caddy with an extension pole that lets you mount it in the corner. Brand is Simple Human. Still works great after 7 years.

We had two in the house plans, and they only installed one. We did not have Warranty install the second for all the tile reasons, etc. Go with the non tile busting approach, as that just introduces tile and water issues in the future
just our thoughts to solve the same issue |
