Anyone Observe More Worms Than Usual?
For the last 2 weeks I’ve been seeing an unusual number of worms 4-6” both on the driveway and the lanai. I know worms are generally considered necessary for healthy soil but it might be too much of a good thing. Anyone observe this worm phenomenon?

We have them as well, but we think they might be baby snakes.

Very dry and now at last rain. Original post does sound like earthworms some 2 inches some 4 inches. The rain may be bringing them up. They are good for the soil and do no harm. Free aeration and fertilizer. |
Good sign of healthy dirt

Add to that the huge amount of insecticides people apply many that also kill earthworms. It is tough to be an earthworm in the villages. |
Earth worms are anywhere there's some topsoil and when it rains....like it has been doing a bit lately they come out of the ground to get away from so much water. Only the ones that happen to end up in the road, driveway and walks you see and they do it on purpose.
Never heard of too many earthworms as they are great for the lawns(which have soil, dirt, loam). |
Yes, earthworms and they are up and moving around, sadly often onto very inhospitable places, like pavement.
I agree, there is no such thing as too many worms. |
Worms are like bees. Only bring good things to the garden!
