Please be cautious about with whom you deal

I am posting this cautionary notice so you will be reminded that it's important to know the character of the person with whom you entrust your beloved pet.

Several days ago, a new member and first time poster began drumming up business for a pet sitting service. We contacted this person and reminded them that "for profit" businesses are required to purchase an advertisement. This person ignored the reminded and posted again the next day.

We contacted this person again and forwarded information about the small cost of a services ad here.

She responded by saying, "ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT YOU EXPECT ME TO PAY FOR AN AD?" Once again we responded by explaining that all the other businesses here pay for their ads.

So, she responded by, yet again, posting about her pet sitting services. The member is now in the banned category.

The reason I post this is because it demonstrates the character of of a few individuals who have a built in resistance to propriety. Could you imagine if you had a issue with this person over the service that was provided. I suspect you would get the same disrespect.

:BigApplause:Thanks Talk Host, I had a bad feeling about her post and the fact that she was soliciting business. Even with a personal recommendation it is important to check out anyone who wants to board your pet. Too many horror stories out there.

Talk Host, I see that her note is still on the forum and includes her telephone number. I think it would be a good idea to erase her message.

I support you on this to, TH. And thanks for the heads up.

Thanks Talk Host. This is a good reminder for me because I tend to be over trusting. I need to be more diligent about checking out references. I'd hate to ever leave my beloved animals with someone like that.

Oh, and I guess we've established with this thread that TH is not an English major.

On the above issue...
It would make me mad as hell if I owned this forum.

Jan..."with whom you deal" sounds like..............Has Tony been visiting you again??

Jan, I know it's a lot of work, but I also know that it is very effective -- moderate new posters for the first 10 posts. That way, they can't post until an admin approves the post. Saves a lot of grief in the long run.
