Best Walmart for grocery pickup

We’ve gotten used to Walmart grocery pickup over the past year or so. We are moving to our home in Fenney in two weeks and want to set up a grocery order to pick up when we arrive. Which Walmart is closest to Fenney and offers the best service?

We prefer the Neighborhood Walmart even though it is the furthest from our home. They consistently have satisfied each order the best. The Walmart on Wedgwood is very good also.

The store on 441 is not too great.

The best place to get a Perfect order for a couple of dollars more is Publix. Just the greatest.

Publix pickup adds 5 to 10 % above the in store price of an item to cover what Instacart charges them. Walmart does not.

Their website:

Are there any additional fees for using in-store pickup?
No. This service is available to you without any additional fees or charges.

Publix charges more for an item delivered vs what you’d pay in the store (or store pickup)

Publix items are much higher than Walmart's. We used Publix and Walmart and found that Walmart was consistently about 30-40 cents lower, for the same items.

We prefer the Neighborhood Walmart across from Colony Plaza, on Heald Way off of 466A. They have covered pick-up, which is great on sunny or rainy days as the covered bays protect you. During one pick-up, at Publix, it was raining heavily. I felt bad for the person putting the groceries in our trunk, as she was getting poured on, plus our trunk got soaked.

That happened at our 441 Walmart, so I parked next to their door, felt sorry for them.....love, love Walmart pickup, not only do my eyes not wander down isles picking up stuff I don't need but grocery cost is less and as an added bonus, about every month Walmart includes a gift bag full of goodies, never dreamed I'd shop online. Many friends like to squeeze and pinch their items, me, not so much.

Most of the time item out of stock is substituted with item more expensive but cost the same as original item ordered. How can you not love popping the trunk for groceries. I'm always trying to give tip but they won't take it.

I use Heald but I was in Sanibel. Depends on what you need & their inventory.

I only shopped at the one on Heald Way one time but it seemed very limited in their offerings…..is that a full service store?

Sign up for their yearly service at 99 dollars and you get delivery. No need whatsoever to pick it up and drag it home yourself. Not only that but you'll get free express delivery at least one time within 2 hours. Or you can sign up for instacart and get delivery from Save-A-Lot Publix in several other organic grocers as well as non-food stores. After all your retired

Closest Walmart Grocery to Fenney is at Sarasota Plaza on Heald Way and 466A. We shopped there for over a year and never had a problem. It's not a full size Walmart, but for groceries they mostly had what we needed. Prices cannot be beat, except maybe for self shopping at Aldi's. There's also a outdoor pharmacy pickup there as well. Canopy covered parking area is a plus.

Try Publix rated about 65 best in the nation, they are a class company or Fresh Market rated #1 in the country. China gets a lot of groceries etc from China
