Rude & Scatterbrained

Whoever you are with the license plate
“ FUHGETABOUTIT” you ought to be ashamed of yourself for blocking 2 of us by parking behind our carts at Publix on Southerntrace shopping center. What an idiot! So wish I knew how to post the 2 pictures I took of your cart!!!

I feel your pain, Kaydee - I didn't realize parking one's golf cart behind another was even "a thing" until someone did it to me on one of the squares last year - it was not even a busy time of day and there were plenty of empty spaces, so I had to assume the person who blocked me from behind merely enjoyed saving a few steps although it caused me to spend about 10 minutes going backwards and forwards in an attempt to exit the spot without hitting either the carts to either side of me or the cart of the extremely inconsiderate person who'd penned me in from behind.

I had to keep my old NYC personality in check on this sweltering-hot afternoon to avoid storming into the nearby establishments to make a loud inquiry for ["license plate# here"] and insist that they move. I was especially livid because, along my non-car-owner upbringing comes (in my case) a great talent for yelling "Taxi!" but zero talent in negotiating tight parking spaces. Conversely, your clueless "FUHGETABOUTIT" (who by his plate is obviously a former NY'er) may have learned to park on a dime- maybe from Brooklyn or a former Valet LOL. Fortunately for me and those around me, I had 4 grandkids with me whose presence forced me to feign composure as I embarrassingly moved my cart backwards and forwards numerous times (periodically exiting the cart for a close visual check as to whether I had room to maneuver) as they impatiently observed and repeatedly asked me what was wrong.

Lesson learned - tho the parking space may be long enough for an SUV, do not pull your golf cart up to the front if you want to be assured an easy exit.

The NY attitude is recognized across the country, I'am from Chicago doing that there you could well find your tires and seats slashed. I certainly don't condone or advocate anything like that but at the same time I would have little sympathy for the driver of said Veh

pretty easy to take the brake off, put cart in 'neutral' and push it out of the way. Maybe even push it into the middle of the lane and leave it there.

We will have a rough life

And maybe you could announce in the Publix that their car was going to be towed immediately that will get action

That is my suggestion (minus leaving the cart in the middle of the lane). These carts are so very easy to move by one person.

Move it far from where it is parked, let them think it was stolen. And leave a note stating, don't block other carts, hope this taught you a lesson.

I have had a few considerate Villagers park their golf cart right
next to my driver’s door so I couldn’t get into my car.
I release their brake and move their cart.
You have to wonder if they think of anyone but themselves.

Exactly, that’s what I was thinking. Push the cart out if the way, maybe leave a sign, “You blocked me.” I usually assume the person is just ignorant, not malicious.

I was in my golf cart in a space and an elderly lady parked in the handicapped space next to me in her regular car except that she drove halfway into my space and rammed my cart. She brushed it off and huffed out loud and walked right into the market without seeing how I was. So there also some that shouldn’t be driving any vehicle. Just scratches to my cart so not worth my time.

Someone did that to my wife & I about a month after we moved in here over 3 years ago on one of those 90+ degree days. We came out of Walmart on 466 with among other stuff ice cream. Our cart is air-conditioned but I didn't plan on waiting out their shopping trip and also running down my battery. We went into Walmart and asked them to please page the person who ... blah blah and Walmart said they didn't do that. Finally we just released their parking brake and rolled their cart back onto the other side of the lane against the cart corral and drove off. Wish we could have hung around to see their reaction.
