Starting in July

Our taxes will now be paying $300. per child, per month, year round. 3 kids $900. per month. 6 kids $1,800. per month. Good business.

Boy meets girl they have a child. If they remain unmarried and the dad stays with mom off the books, the money flows in. If they get married, all the free money goes away.

I saw that

I mentioned the $300/ month to my wife

but she quickly cut me off and told me to forget about it

apparently she's not interested in having any more kids

I'll bring it up again next week, just to see if she changes her mind....

Wrong; family income is the determining factor. :ohdear:

Please stop confusing many folks with facts.

It is much easier for some to ignore facts, come up with labels and then proceed to attack personally.

I just want to know which third world country these people came from, that they can support a child for only $300/month. Just the groceries for that one kid is $300. Unless they're getting infant formula, then you can double that cost. If it costs me another $5/year to help thousands of people living below poverty level cover their kids' diaper bill, then I'll gladly pay the extra $5/year. And *I* am living just above the level that qualifies me for food stamps.

Anyone with more who has a "problem" with helping poor people by kicking in an extra few bucks a year, is either selfish and heartless, or not bright enough to figure out that that's all it's going to cost them in the end.

I kick in enough bucks a year, I don't want the govt coming around and asking for more. When the govt stops wasting the money they already get, then they can ask for more. If that makes selfish and heartless in your mind then so be it.

"not bright enough to figure out that that's all it's going to cost them in the end." That sounds like you are asserting that just kicking in an extra few bucks a year is all it is going to cost me in the end. I don't believe that for a second. I believe every time we blindly accept that we just need to kick in a few extra bucks we make it that much easier to take more bucks later. But maybe that's because I'm not bright enough to figure it out.

Note: I'm not against the intent of the program but I am definitely against raising taxes to fund it.

Some people around here are convinced we are not paying our fair share.

An unmarried birthing person can receive many, many, many more freebies than child support from the Government.

Food Stamps
Rent Support
Unemployment (plus Covid bonus)
Cell Phone
Utility Assistance
Obama Care
Free College

The report from which I got this said it all added up to $75,000/yr

Yes, this assumes the birthing person was unmarried worked one day and had no other income or assets. And if their back or neck hurt, workers comp payments and SS benefits for life.

This is simply another "not allowed" post to get folks screeching......as time goes on we will see the words "communism" and marxism", even though when used it shows how little the poster knows.

I think based on income, is fair. That is the United States of America.

Now, reading the current news.......an insurrection in our nations capital is not important for congress or the nation to hear why, etc....BUT....the groups stopping that from happening want Brittany Spears to testify.

Lets see.....insurrection on the US capitol.......Brittany Spears

Come on........this is P from the get go.....the OP knew it when posted. Let us not allow for our own poor in this country, an actual pittance, but lets bring in Spears to testify.....and I could go on.

You people think that folks on here cannot read through your postings.....Perhaps you should re evaluate your position.

We used to be a self reliant nation. The govt keeps spending more of our money and does it very inefficiently.

The people in Washington stopped working for us awhile ago, we need term limits and limits on corporate contributions to our legislators.

And I do feel it is absurd when major corporations make a lot of money and manage not to pay taxes. If you or I had enough money to buy a few congressman we could do the same.

I do feel that if people do not have the money to bring up a child they should not do it with the idea the rest of us gets to pay for it.

BTW I could care less about the life of Brittany Spears.
