Your thoughts on this rain gutter position
 

Looking at the courtyard villas on the Villages website and saw this alleyway picture. I personally am always amazed at what people do to their neighbors property between growing crap on the side of their house or this type of stuff.

The water is going to get to the concrete anyway. At least in a downpour it won’t wash the stones onto the concrete. Looks smart to me

The villa on the left has control of the all of the property seen in the pic, right up to the villa on the right. So, it is a fair assumption that the downspout extension was added by the "guy on the left" when the landscaping was done.

I don't think that either neighbor installed the gutters or downspouts. That is the way the builder typically installs gutters on courtyard villas. There are hundreds exactly like that in The Villages. It is not a problem.
