Why???

Do you hope there is a mask mandate and that there is closure of all facilities as well?

There certainly are people who do want that. There are several states that are not far removed from that.

Unfortunately a lot of people don’t take Covid seriously until a relative or friend dies from it. Sad.

With your mask soundly in place just tell the starter you are immune compromised and must ride alone.

Careful what you wish for!!

*sigh* common sense and freedom of choice is rapidly disappearing ... if you've had the shot you don't actually have to mask...tis scientifically proven that a minuscule amount of those vaccinated get the virus...if you don't get the shot and do not wear a mask that is a free choice and those who've had the shot should just shut up as they have been vaccinated and likely won't get the virus.

More children died from the flu last year than covid...how come you always maskers haven't been wearing a mask your whole life???

How many people die from bathroom accidents in a year? Perhaps we should make people wear a football or motorcycle helmet when they get out of bed so that head injuries are fewer.

The problem with always maskers is they are the lemmings of the human race and do many things that endanger themselves as well as others yet still continue on taking risks while...driving even though as they age they screw up more and more, climb ladders even though their balance is in question....don't drink enough water when out of doors(no being in a pool does not increase your hydration)...forget to take their meds regularly...ignore the suggestions and orders from doctors because they googled it and decided they don't like the risk of serious side effects.

As least if you're going to tell others what to do preface your comment by "I am a sheep and follow the unscientific suggestions/rules from a gov't that can't even follow/obey their own suggestions/rules." By all means always add the addendum "I am a hypocrite because I only follow the rules as I see fit."

Could I ask if you were a sheep getting your vaccination or maybe you have not been vaccinated.

Dana, if we all lowered our speed on highways to 35, thousands of lives would be saved. It becomes an individual choice of what are you willing to give up.

For an answer to the ORIGINAL question, you have always had the ability to ride single in a cart. They will ask you to ride double but you can and always have had the ability to say you want to ride as a single. What the group has to do is ensure only 2 carts on the fairway of any hole. So that needs to be decided before each hole who can ride on the fairway. On the executive courses this is no a big deal as there are usually only one or two par 4 holes. On championship courses it is more of a hassle.

Not really. The rule on the championship course has always been that the person who refuses to double up is the one who gets to stay on the cart path. Prior to COVID, this was even posted on several of the starter shacks, the one I remember most was Destin at Bonifay.

Sorry that is incorrect. If there are more then 2 carts, only 2 carts can be in the fairway at a time. You either misread the the posting or it was misinformation.

You're right, it did say 2 carts in fairway, not one on cart path. But the sign did say the person who refuses is the one that has to stay off the fairway. The few times it had come up it was never a problem since someone was usually in the rough anyway. But one time an ambassador told our group that the same person had to stay in the rough the whole time, we couldn't switch off. Was that correct? You certainly would know better than I.

That was what the man said. The one who refuses to double stays on path.

Yes is an individual choice.

You can choose to stop going to work and rob a bank.

You can choose to shoot your noisy neighbor.

You can choose to kick your ball out of the rough when no one is looking.

If you decide personally to drive 100mph through a neighborhood.

But, society has a right to impose punishment when you choose to do things that are detrimental to society.

Ambassador was sorta correct, the guidelines say that the golfers can alternate holes, if you are not in the fairway on the first you can be on the next and someone else stays in the ruff. But some of the courses allow 2 on, one comes on and the other one goes off.
