VCDD & Citizens Bank

Moved to TV and have to start writing checks again!? Can’t these establishments get with the century and auto deduct?
Set it up for VCDD on districtgov but didn’t take! Now have late fee….I’m ticked off. Same with Citizen’s Bank. Really people?

I've had my utilities (water/sewer/amenity) and my electric auto-deducted since day one with no problems.

I don't have a loan with Citizens Bank so can't speak to that.

What gets me is that they use a third-party company to handle their credit card transactions, and you have to pay a fee over and above whatever you pay for a drivers' license, any kinds of permits, or even pay your taxes if you use a credit card.

They nickel and dime you to death, but proclaim proudly that they're a low-tax state.

Gimme a break.

I always just put cash in an envelope and mail it.

The government agencies have no choice but to change the fees. The credit card companies charge a fee for every transaction. Not collecting the fee would be lowering the amount collected for the taxes or other fee and thus be giving preferential treatment.
Businesses don’t change a fee because they take it out of their profits. They compensate by raising their prices to cover the costs. While generally only about 3%, these fees amount to a large amount of money for businesses both large and small.

Sometimes people just don’t listen or read instructions and sometimes just don’t listen.
Upon sign up for auto pay thru SECO, VCDD Cell bill since it is thru your bank there is a cut off time for processing and data entry. Once it’s activated your bill if mailed or paperless will state you are on Auto Pay.
Always READ your invoices

That's a bit harsh. I would suggest "technochallenged" would be more likely.:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

All of my bills are emailed, never a problem with North Sumter, but Central Sumter going to same email never received bill. The conformation email came, but not the first bill. I called and yes The very nice lady said they need to remind customer, when signing up for paperless, bill may not show up with certain email addresses.

I never have auto debt, never trust a company to be in my pocket. This month in error Comcast billed $486.27. Bill should have been $86.27, if I had auto pay, that extra $400 would be in credits for months. There was no explanation, other than if you pay the amount billed we will give you a credit each month. No thank you.

You can pay everything electronically without doing auto payments at all.

Not true. Some companies are starting to require auto pay. For example, two companies are Xfinity Mobile and Dean's Landscaping. I had a conversation with the Dean's manager, where I offered to use their service, if they would bill me monthly. He told me that the only way they would do business with me was to provide a credit card that they could bill automatically. I told him that I would use another company.

The only way to get the Xfinity Mobile cell phone service is to sign up for auto pay. They will not bill you.
