How is difficulty level of Executie courses determined?

Someone told me it was by length. Someone else told me it was difficulty of the holes (e.g., sandtraps, water, swamps).

Most golf courses including those at the Villages are done via Slope Rating. With that said, TV also uses their own difficulty rating, which varies from 1-4 and according to who I spoke to there, it is done based on a myriad of factors that include both length and difficulty. This could be number of hazards, greens, etc.

Based upon my experience

It is based upon the average number of lost balls per round.

They keep an ongoing sound recording of levels of cussing.

I found it depends on the ball I use, many are rated for sand, the rest for water, somehow I never found the ones rated for GREENS.

I believe it's done with the Villages personnel, going out playing a few rounds on a particular course after it has been completed.
That is the way Red Fox and Gray Fox were graded, from average 1-4 rating.

The way my game is going, I find the one's are becoming fours!

I must have played an easy course this morning... Only dropped one in the lake!

The executive courses aren’t USGA rated, so you can’t post the score for your handicap index

I think the Villages golf professional staff rate them. I dont think there’s much science behind it.

I love you guys and your smart remarks! Thanks!

Someone told me, Someone told me. You are not a golfer, difficulty is based on your ability to play the games.

Which tee box you use can totally change the difficulty of the courses. Also makes them fun.

They are rated based on length and hazards. If accuracy is key, the higher the rating.
