Munchies After Midnight

As an avid marathon runner and ever since moving to The Villages, most of my summer running has been after 900pm, as I still cannot get accustomed to the Florida summer afternoon heat. After a night run, I'll sometimes get the munchies and I still haven't found a healthy eating alternative after midnight and "healthy" is the operative word.

I'm willing to travel anywhere between the Gator (Gainesville) to the Mouse (Orlando). Any suggestions on healthy eating options into the wee hours???

Anything fruit or vegetables.

Got to be a 24 hour McD’s somewhere....special sauce, lettuce, cheese on a sesame seed bun sounds healthy enough for mw.

If not for you....try any 7/11...they have lots of HEALTHY choices at 3am

WAWA is 24/7. Why would you drive 2+hrs RT in the middle of the night for a snack after running? I think this is another post generator thread. Must be that time of the month to count the posts for advertising rates. ;)

I can’t get my head around running at 9pm and getting the munchies. I go to sleep about then. But isn’t a healthy snack a healthy snack whether at midnight or noon?

White Castle (Orlando). Been the place for late night munchies for decades. Definitely healthy, not.

Anything that doesn't come in a box, which means nothing processed or with additives,

Try a protein shake and add some frozen fruit & frozen veggies. They come in bags in the frozen fruit section. It's cooling, filling and healthy and will still satisfy the munchies.

Peanut butter on 100% whole wheat bread. Handful of nuts. Bowl of low sugar cereal with added banana.

After running there should be some protein in the mix.
