Best method to clean face of golf irons?
.
. Got a set of new golf irons from TV/Sarasota Golf store. 5H and 6-9 and PW, GW Cobra RadSpeed one-length. Actually love them so far, and they came with Arccos "Caddie Smart Sensors" in the grips. They are GREAT and helpful tracking shots and scoring. This said, after 3 rounds of use, the irons now have the typical ball strike marks on the face. What is the BEST method to remove these strike marks while not scratching up the face? I do like to see the marks, as many times it shows the "hit", but need to restore the face properly. Any suggestions? . . |
Maybe you should ask the Pro that set you up with the new set of clubs

New clubs should not have "ball strike marks" after jus 3 rounds. :ohdear: |
I use a mr clean wet sponge on heavy dirt spots followed by a wd40 wipe down with soft cloth on the whole club.

I use the "Groove Tube." $6.99 on Amazon. Keeps the grooves clean so you can spin it.

Toothbrush

I use a medium toothbrush and very light simple green water mix. For older tarnished or extremely dirty clubs I use bar keeper's friend and toothbrush.

. Friends told me the best/safest way to clean club face is Dawn detergent in water with a bronze or plastic brush. It worked perfectly. I do like to see the ball mark as it's evidence for your strike on the iron face. But need to erase old ones. done. . |
