I hope they are better than City Furniture. What a shock in buying a recliner from them and at the very last minute of the deal finding out they charge a $99.00 delivery fee and will NOT take away the old recliner. Why in the world would I pay their delivery help on top of the prices of their furniture and then have to deal with getting rid of the old stuff myself??? Crazy. We went to White's Furniture which is outside The Villages (up by Del Webb) and they delivered for FREE. Hopefully Haverty's won't have that crazy added on costs!

I wish our wonderful blog would put in bold when they have a paid press release, a lot of people don't read who the post is by ie "The gazette". My opinion is this is unethical to post like this, what say you talk of The villages?

Bought 2 leather recliners and a loveseat last year from Havertys. Furniture did not hold up within 6 months. Took another 6 months of going back and forth with pictures. inspections and complaing to finally get them to refund. They tried to charge a 25% restocking fee. Buyer beware. We will not deal with them in the future.

Haverty's delivery charge

No way will I pay them $99 or $199 to delivery to my home three minutes away from their store. When I politely said this to a sales person...he replied "well, we do have to pick up the furniture at our warehouse and bring it here."

So....is that MY problem?

Many years ago, I was the auditor for a large, national furniture store. They will ALWAYS waive delivery fees, just walk up when they bring it up.
