Saratoga State Park Golf Course in Upstate NY

Just played a round of golf yesterday for $35 with a cart. Fantastic conditions. Greens rolled quick and true. Fairway grass sat up. Rough could be testing, but I didn't belong there.

Pleasure to play.

Great course, love real grass, Rye grass!!

State owned course, tax dollars do help keep the cost lower!!

Inlet golf course near Old Forge has one of the best scenic views one can experience anywhere. And a bonus of 74.6 degrees F average temp in July. Saratoga, Thendara, and Inlet will make one discover the difference between natural beauty and man made. Both are beautiful but ?

When I was a wee lad back in the mid 1960s we vacationed across 4th Lake, from Inlet. My folks and aunt and uncle played Inlet, and I tagged along. I remember the views. Incredible.
They played Thendara but I was not invited to tag along.

Just played Inlet a couple of weeks ago... We play there annually as part of the Limekiln Lake Association tourney.. great course but a bit challenging for me.

I hope you treated yourself to an hour at the Roosevelt Baths after your round. This is why Saratoga is referred to as “The Spa”!

Way to go Bob. Hope you didn't have to use the eraser on the pencil. Gary H.

I went to a concert at SPAC some years ago, and opted to leave early, to play there, then head to the concert. It was decent for a muni course.

Nice course. After golf you can go to Saratoga Race Course. Whack and track!

Thanks for the info but not sure why you think that is of value to us in the Villages 1400 hundred miles to the south?‽????

Know it well. Previous name of restaurant was Cliff’s Country Inn.

I lived next door and owned the apartments across the street.

Anybody who loves golf would want to know about a great place to play! That is why the Saratoga spa golf course is worth telling Villagers about. In general I find that people who aren't from upstate New York think New York ends at Westchester County--if they even know where that is. Upstate New York is one of the most gorgeous places in the entire country. And summer is indescribably wonderful. And yes the spa course is owned by the State. As is Bethpage. Ever heard of it??
