Fuel Gauge
Is it easy to install a fuel gauge on a golf cart? Whole bunch of wires connected to the gas tank but my cart does not have a fuel gauge. Who does it and how much would it cost?
It is 2016 Yamaha FI type.. Cheers! |

The typical electric fuel gauge requires a hole to be cut into the fuel tank, and a couple of wires, ground, power supply, and connection to the fuel gauge. The fuel gauge typically requires about a 2 inch hole in the dash.
There are 2 types of fuel level sensors, vertical and lever, I opted for a vertical as i was not sure of clearances for the lever type. I checked with 1 or 2 golf cart stores and the cost was around $150 to $200. |

What you see is the wiring for the electric fuel pump. On my 2012 village gold cart the fuel gauge sending unit is separate from the fuel pump cap you see. It requires hole drilled, separate unit, wiring to dash, and gauge
Here what mine looks like. Factory IPB without sending unit. Yamaha Parts Catalog |

Have heard the gas gauges are not that reliable which is why don’t they did not put it in my 2020 Yamaha golf cart. I just open the seat and look at the one in the tank.

I thought our golf cart was about Mt, so I went to the station and it only held 1.1 gals. Lol
