Company to clean tile and grout
 

Have you used "Renu Carpet and Tile Cleaning" or "Sure Clean Solutions" for tile and grout cleaning? These are the two companies I am considering hiring to clean all our tile and grout inside our home.

Sure Clean did not do a good job. I just had tile and grout cleaned by Grout Smith and I give them 5 stars. Neighbors saw my my floors, hired them and everyone is happy.

OP, the next step will be to seal the grout, you may want to look into a company that does both. Sorry I cannot recommend any as I did this myself.

I read the reviews about The Groutsmith on their website. One reviewer said "everything was done by hand". The other two companies I mentioned in my OP both use a machine to clean the tile and the grout at the same time. My sister had a company clean her tile and grout with the machine and she said that what was left on the tile was "grit" which she had to clean after the job was completed. I'm not looking to have to "clean" up grit so I'm not so sure I want a company to use any sort of machine on my tile flooring.

How long does the sealing of the grout usually last?

GroutSmith has a 10 year guarantee. They thoroughly scrubbed the tile and grout. Then painted the grout to match the original colr and then sealed the grout.

So....GroutSmith does not use a machine to clean the tile and grout but scrub it by hand? Very interesting that they "paint" the grout. Is that because the grout does not come completely clean? Is it possible to paint the grout a different color than the original grout? Did you find that there was "grit" left on the tile after the job was completed?

No grit. Our grout was 9 years old with multiple dogs walking through the house. I wanted the original color because it was a good match to our tile.

The installers of tile in my new home left a nightmare of a mess , brand new home and the floor looked like it was 10 years old , a half a dozen companies passed on the job until I found sure clean , he wasn’t sure he could get it all clean but he did and it was a very tough job , they are great

Used Sure Clean a couple of years ago and couldn't tell any difference after they left. Won't use them again. Will look into Groutsmith. Another company a neighbor used for cleaning, painting & sealing grout is All about Grout.
