Traveling from UK to Canada to US

I have friends who own a home in Mt Dora that have not been in the US for 18 months since Covid hit .

Hey are looking for a way to come back to the US and apparently can’t do it directly from the UK due to current restrictions.

They are considering traveling to Canada which is no problem and then to the US . They are both fully vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

So the question is , does anyone know of an “official site” that outlines the US entry requirements from Canada to the US ?

They have tried to call different governmental offices for an answer, including US Customs, etc., but apparently no one answers the phone or email inquiries…..

Suggestions ???

Thanks for the suggestion.

Just received an email from them stating that they have been in contact with Senator Rubio’s office and it appears that the issue has been resolved.

The biggest question was whether the AstraZeneca vaccine would be acceptable and it appears that it is .

They have flights booked to Canada where they will quarantine for 14 days before arriving in Florida on October 23….

Keeping fingers crossed. I will ask to have this thread closed once they arrive in the US .

Sadly tiresome reality today. Trying to find a HUMAN to help. My personal limit is one such issue is my comfort limit. Recently I had four going at the same time. Your call is very important to us, we are backed up, call back later. Office hours are tues to weds 9-3:30 oh we do not answer the phone between 8:30 and 5:30 HOW ELSE CAN WE HELP YOU? The best one ATT has a computer that is truly great. You could swear it is a HUMAN. It does confess if you ask.

Quarantine in Canada for 14 days? I assume you are not allowed to tour Canada for those 14 days. The cost, the boredom? A strange new world.

You did not mention when they wanted to come. This can change rules. It does not appear that the rules are going to be relaxed in the near future due to(my beleif) that the un vaccinated persons are exacerbating an already bad situation by not getting vaccinated.

Good luck.

Via Bermuda is another option - we have friends doing that in October. Spend 14 days there (mostly non-quarantined if you are vaccinated) then get PCR test to travel on to USA.

Quebec City is nice this time of year

I wonder if they could fly to St Thomas, relax in the sun for 14 days and then come over to the mainland

Cost is not a factor for these folks…. They own multiple homes in different parts of Europe plus the one here in Mt Dora, Florida
