It is interesting. They must not taste good. I've never noticed birds or lizards feeding on them. It is clearly a BOGO. They are slow. Can't help it-even old birds can easily catch them.

sounds like it's time to spray a little "Pam" on the car's front grille and the front edge of the hood (but place some newspapers underneath first or you garage floor will be quite slippery)

Aren't you the bearer of good tidings. One more thing to worry about. Ok, no big deal.

And for some more Bug News: Seen a lot more RVs on the road!

I've actually been seeing them for about a week now. But, the Spring "invasion" was pretty mediocre.

You may not be as happy when you have to clean them from your windshield and hood...

Thankful for the little bugs

I too just saw my first lovebugs of the season a couple of days ago and it reminded me…

Last December I was hospitalized with Covid-19 for eight days. I was admitted on December 19th and got out on the 27th. I almost did not make it out.

On my second lonely night at the hospital (no visitors allowed), I began thinking that I may never see my three kids again, or my grandson, or my granddaughter (who was on her way, born April of this year), or the rest of my family and friends. I also thought about all the other things I may never see or experience again.

I thought about the things I usually don’t care for, like meeting with my accountant in March, going to the dentist, and yes, washing lovebugs from my car. I made it my goal to be alive until at least September 2021 so that I could do all three (I forgot at the time that lovebugs would also be here in May).

I am happy to report that I am currently alive and well, I filed my taxes in April, had my teeth cleaned in May, and I drive extra carefully nowadays to make sure that I don’t harm those beautiful little lovebugs. I will be here for my grandson’s 17th birthday (tomorrow) and will soon be holding my precious five-month-old granddaughter (who was born on my birthday!).

I realize the lovebugs will soon be gone, but May is just around the corner.

Stay healthy and safe.

Oh man, that’s one thing I don’t Miss especially when you have to constantly swat them away when you’re trying to make a golf shot. Also they make a mess on the front of our cars!

Love is in the air!
