Renting movies on DirecTV
 
It looks like you need to purchase the movie at the time it begins, is that correct?

Some movie rentals (Vudu, Red Box) start when you purchase them.

I have DirecTv and you order the movie at any time you desire, then watch it. If you have their DVR some you can record and watch at another time if you wish.
