Any success with flowering dogwood trees?
We've always enjoyed dogwoods "up north." How about here?

Dogwood tree
I had a dogwood tree in my west facing front yard in The Villages. It did very well for years, but a wind storm broke it off about 3 feet above the ground.

It is a beautiful tree but do not remember having berries on it.
Grew very nicely when we lived in Va. |

I doubt dogwoods will grow well here. They need acidic soil, our soil is alkaline. They grow in partial shade. |
